This Substack Is Staying Free, Yay! (And Other Stuff)
I really like the idea of Substack being free, so I'm going to keep it that way. If you'd like to show your support and get exclusives, you can do that through Patreon.
I’ve decided to keep this Substack completely free. I know, just call me Back-And-Forth Beej. But the more I think about it, the more I just like the idea of free Substacks. Especially when there’s Patreon out there with a lot more granular control for content.
Nothing’s really gonna change here, though, friends. I will be cross-posting all the normal free content here on the BJK Games Patreon, as well as exclusive TTRPG content for Patrons there.
Like today, I posted a preview of my upcoming project filled with named weapons and armor, and their stories. The post has 2 new magic weapons for Dragonbane to whet y’all’s whistle and get onto your tables immediately.
It’d be really awesome if you’d check it out.
Other Stuff
Anyway, this week has been nuts, and I finished the first half of my awesome secret project I can’t say anything about yet. I can’t even tell you how excited I am to talk about it. When I can, you’ll be the first to hear about it. Promise.
I also have some cool stories and recaps to share from our past couple of DB and D&D sessions, but I just haven’t had the time to write them up yet. I think you’ll enjoy the shenanigans when I do.
I am also working on a few reviews right now, including the super-duper cool Fallout RPG and the new Dreams and Machines from Modiphius. I have a lot of good things to say, but they’re totally worth checking out, I can tell you that much here. Especially Dreams and Machines.
We’re using the new D&D 2024 rules at our table, and I am loving the new Sorcerer. I am not loving the Lunar Sorcery subclass from the Dragonlance hardcover, though. I thought it would be great fun to both RP and mess around with mechanically, but it’s not. I wish I’d used the new Abberant Sorcery from the 2024 PHB.
Anyway, I’ll be in touch again soon. Stay shiny, friendos.
